Our dedicated team works tirelessly to identify dogs in need, provide immediate care, and bring them into our trusted network of foster homes where they can begin to heal and rediscover what it means to be safe and loved.
What is Fostering?
Fostering a dog means opening your home and heart to a dog in need while they wait for their forever family. As a foster, you provide a safe, loving environment where the dog can decompress, heal, and learn to trust again. Many of our dogs come from stressful or uncertain situations, and fostering gives them the stability and care they need to thrive.
Birmingham Dog Rescue covers all essential supplies — including food, veterinary care, and support — so you can focus on giving your foster dog the attention, love, and comfort they deserve. Whether it’s a few weeks or a few months, fostering truly saves lives and plays a vital role in helping us rescue and rehome more dogs.
How can I adopt?
Adopting from Birmingham Dog Rescue is a life-changing experience — for both you and your new best friend. Our goal is to ensure every dog finds the right home where they’ll be loved, safe, and cared for.
To begin the process, please fill out our Adoption Application. This helps us get to know you, your home, and your lifestyle so we can match you with a dog that fits perfectly with your family. Once your application is reviewed, our team will reach out to discuss next steps, schedule a meet-and-greet, and guide you through the adoption process.
